Rainbow Fragments was painted by Rachel using highly pigmented acrylic paint. Each fragment is a unique shape and hue, painted in four layers to ensure maximum opacity. As there was no masking used to create this painting, every sharp corner and straight line in each fragment is painted by hand. As a result, this painting was completed over 420 hours. The contrasting hues add depth to this otherwise flat abstract subject, creating movement and tension across the substrate.
